Concieved in a spur of the moment in 2006, “Call” premiered with great success in Edmonton, Canada, in the same year. A show with 40 hanging phonebooks is a fascination by the thousands and thousands of hidden stories behind those names in phonebooks, where the performers try to vividly extract at least a few of them and make them alive. What essence, if any, reveals itself through the mere vocality of a name and a surname? What is the flesh and blood of those names, where do these people cut their hair and why have they just stolen an ashtray from their neighbour? “Call” is a wish to plunge into random lives we will never cross paths with.
With made up and very true monologues, acrobatic attempts and really nice music.
